AOD-9604
Also known as: Anti-Obesity Drug 9604, hGH-Fragment 176-191
A synthetic fragment of human growth hormone (amino acids 176–191) intended to mimic the fat-mobilising properties of growth hormone without its growth-promoting or diabetogenic effects.
Structure
- Sequence
- hGH Fragment 176–191 (Tyr-Leu-Arg-Ile-Val-Gln-Cys-Arg-Ser-Val-Glu-Gly-Ser-Cys-Gly-Phe)
- Molecular formula
- C₇₈H₁₂₅N₂₃O₂₃S₂
- Molecular weight
- 1,817 Da
- Amino acids
- 16
- Half-life
- ~15–20 minutes
Mechanism of action
AOD-9604 mimics the action of the C-terminal growth hormone fragment on fat cells. It stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis without binding to the growth hormone receptor.
