Skin & copper peptides
SNAP-8
Also known as: Acetyl Octapeptide-3, Octapeptid Anti-Falten
A synthetic octapeptide (acetyl octapeptide-3) that modulates neurotransmitter release at the neuromuscular junction, studied as a topical anti-wrinkle peptide in cosmetic research.

- Molecular formula
- C₄₁H₇₀N₁₆O₁₆S
- Molecular weight
- 1,075 Da

Mechanism of action
SNAP-8 competes with SNAP-25 in the SNARE complex that fuses neurotransmitter vesicles with the membrane. Partial inhibition reduces acetylcholine release and muscle contraction.
